The frame is made of Meranti wood, finished with a Cedar Satin (reddish-brown) stain. The framed painting measures 28x23x3cm.
I take a lot of photos of the sky just outside my studio window whenever the clouds are doing something beautiful. It makes for some perfect cloud studies! The only thing is I can't paint fast enough to do en plein air - these only last a couple of minutes! They're also difficult to photograph - I can never get the right colour and lighting balance. So, I worked from my photos and memory of the colours with a bit of tweaking to harmonise everything. I really want to do a larger version similar to this one soon!
